Over the past weekend, the international box office saw exceptional performances from various films, with significant milestones reached. Notably, Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 achieved a major feat by becoming the first animated movie to surpass the $1 billion mark at the international box office, currently standing at $1.003 billion. This remarkable achievement solidifies its position as the highest-grossing animated film of all time globally and overseas. The movie now joins an elite group of only 12 films that have surpassed this impressive milestone.

20th Century Studios/Disney’s Alien: Romulus also made waves at the international box office with strong holds in its second weekend, adding $41.6 million to its offshore total, which now stands at $152.8 million. Deadpool & Wolverine’s Continued Success

Marvel/Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine maintained its strong performance at the international box office, adding another $20.2 million in its fifth weekend, bringing its overseas total to $634.1 million and global earnings to $1,211.3 million. The film has moved up to the No. 8 position on the worldwide MCU chart, surpassing Captain America: Civil War, and is poised to overtake Iron Man 3 soon. Strong holds in markets like the UK, China, and Australia continue to propel Deadpool & Wolverine’s impressive box office run.

Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 4 also continued its successful run at the international box office, grossing $18.6 million from 84 markets and reaching an international total of $537.1 million. The film’s performance is exceeding previous installments like Minions: The Rise of Gru and DM3 at the same point, excluding China. With a global tally approaching $900 million, Despicable Me 4 is on track to become another blockbuster for the franchise.

The film’s global earnings now stand at an impressive $1.649 billion, making it one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time.
